Instructions

    1. Pour the vegetable oil into a pot and heat to medium. Add the chopped onion.

    3. Add the minced garlic, Ethiopian berbere spice, salt, and ground turmeric. Stir and cook for 1 minute.

    6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer until thickened, about 20 minutes.
