1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using HowIEatHealthy (“the Service”), including the website at howieathealthy.com and the HIEH Recipe Clipper browser extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

HowIEatHealthy is a meal planning and nutrition tracking platform that allows you to clip recipes from the web, plan weekly meals, track nutrition, manage a shopping list, and monitor grocery spending. The Service includes a web application and a browser extension.

3. Accounts

  • You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any recipes, meal plans, and other content you create or save through the Service (“User Content”). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your User Content solely to provide the Service to you.

If you mark a recipe as public or share content via a share link, that content will be visible to anyone with access to the link or the public recipe library.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service beyond normal use
  • Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit vulnerabilities

6. Subscriptions & Billing

  • The Service offers free and paid tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Founding Testers receive lifetime free access to the features available at the time of their enrollment, subject to these Terms.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not apply to active billing periods.

7. Nutrition Information Disclaimer

Nutrition data provided by the Service is sourced from the USDA FoodData Central database, Open Food Facts, and Nutritionix. While we strive for accuracy, nutrition values are estimates and may vary based on brands, preparation methods, and portion sizes. The Service is not a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice. Consult a healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described therein.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, and original content, is owned by HowIEatHealthy. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written permission. Recipes clipped from third-party websites remain the intellectual property of their original authors.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HowIEatHealthy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to data loss, inaccurate nutrition information, or service interruptions.

11. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time, which will permanently remove your data from our systems. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
