2. Rinse the tomatoes and pat dry, then slice each one in half lengthwise.

3. In a bowl, combine the low-fat cottage cheese, dried basil, and black pepper.

4. Spoon the cheese mixture onto each tomato half, dividing it evenly.

5. Top each half with bread crumbs. Spray lightly with cooking spray.

6. Coat a broiler pan with cooking spray. Arrange the tomatoes on the pan cut-side up. Broil for approximately 10 minutes until the topping is lightly browned and the tomatoes are tender.
